funny noise out of my 95 993

When I make a left turn on my '95 c4 993 I hear a rubbing/fan belt noise. This occurs when I just turn the steering wheel to the left or when I am making a left turn. The noise is coming from the passenger side of the engine compartment. I thought it might have been my ps pump at first but I filled up the reservoir it was still there. Nothing happens when I turn right hard or turn the steering wheel hard to the right. It isn't the tire rubbing on the chassis. Any clues?

Garage
do you have the stock wheels??
if you have an aftermarket set, a different offset may cause interfence at full lock somewhere.

on my 993 with 8.5 inch Ruf wheels, i have a slight rubbing on the black plastic air deflectors at full lock (the pieces under the car that deflect cooling air to the brake rotors)

I'm wondering if it's the power steering belt.

found the problem!

Got a bad steering rack that is leaking. It leaked fluid from the power steering resevoir. The best price I found so far is $599.00 from vetex.

Check with Autozone....I think someone said $499 with exchange. You can also buy them occasionally on eBay used for about $200....that's what I did...it was pulled from a track car that was getting a manual rack...
