Check Engine Light

This past Saturday I attended Tweeks Funfest for Porsches in Effingham,IL. which is about a 250 mile one way trip for me. My 91' C2 ran like a top. On the way home we stopped for a break and I checked the oil it was a little low so I added a little and when I started the car the check engine light came on. The manual said this is for emissions and to have the car checked ASAP. Well after another stop when I restarted the engine the light was off. Then later in the day it came on again after a stop. To make a long story short when I got home shut it off and restarted the car it was off again. Any ideas, is there a sensor going or did pressure drop when I removed the oil res cap to add the oil?

I checked the codes yesterday and the DME showed a 1500 no codes stored which I guess is a good thing and all is well. The check enging light has not come back on and it seems to be running fine. Once again thanks for all of your help and input it is greatly appreciated. I, as a novice am learning a great deal from reading this forum and all the help from all the Porsche veterans out there. Thanks
