What is the cost of a used 996 motor?

Yeah, just wondering the cost of a used 996 motor?

I've seen them go anywhere from 6-20K.... I would say that a fair price would be somewhere around 8-12 depending the miles of course. If you're thinking about 20K then hey give me a call and I'll get you a new one....

I'd call a few dealers and ask what a new one goes for. A few years ago a new 996 motor was less than $10K.

A local guy told me the dealer in Birmingham could get him a new 996 motor for $7000. It may have been only the longblock.

Before July 2004 a crate motor was $8500...Porsche raised the price to $19000 in July.

I've noticed a huge jump in pricing from Porsche North America over the past 9 months...

A lot of these 996 vehicles are now falling out of warrantee.....

Today's price from Porsche dealer for a 1999 996 exchange engine is $7951.74 plus a core charge of $2000.
