Is it possible to replace the metal intakes with plastic for any gain? Is it a matter of just exchanging the manifolds themselves?
Thanks

I have just researched this because I just put a 3.6 in my car. What I found is that there is no benefit in power between the two. The only gain you will get with the plastic is if you also replace the throttle body that came with the plastic, (which was changed along with the plastic). So, unless you are doing it for weight savings then you will not gain a thing.

While there is no difference in the factory rated power, the plastic are lighter, flow more equally and transfr kless heat to the intake charge.

As noted the center metering section was also changed so to change the manifolds the meter must also be changed. Some change it to the 993 mass measuring system.
