3.2 vs 3.6 [996] Air Conditioning?

My early '89 Carrera is in the shop getting a '97 3.6 engine installed. Should I keep the air conditioning on the new motor, or throw it away? I'll keep it if it performs better than the compressor on the 3.2........
Thanks,
Drums

The compressor is about the same. The difference between the two is the plumbing and condensors - the ones for a 993 (1997) is much more efficient.

You may see a little improvement with the 993 compressor.

Thanks for the response. The wrench who is putting the engine in gave me the bad news. It looks like the junk pile for the air conditioning....
