964 Camshaft Timing

I am still thinking about a top end rebuild on my 964 done by myself. I have been reading Adrian Streather's book and I doesnt seem to cover camshaft timing and there seems to be no marks on the camshaft end to do the timing. Before I set off on a rebuild I was wondering how the camshaft timing is done on a 964. Any ideas. Thanks

It is a rather "intersesting" process involving measuring valve lift at TDC overlap with a dial indicator. Not hard to do, but you need to understand it first. Search the engine rebuilding board or get a copy of Waynes rebuilding book of a manual that will explain it in great detail.

I've partially documented my 964 topend rebuild. Your question is answered here.
