Porsche Crest Which Cooling Fan fits?

Hi all, I have a 75 911 with the 11 blade fan/alt. I also have a 12 blade 964 fan/alt combo. I have the complete assemblies, fans,housings and alternators for both types.

I've heard you can use the later 964/C2 fan/alt assy in an earlier 911 using a c2/turbo fan housing. Does anyone know about this?

Yes, they will swap over. You may have some fitment problems with the engine shroud. Also, monitor engine temps - you may need to swap the crankshaft pulley to get the fan to spin fast enough.

Cool

Thanks, I will pick up the fan and shroud on Wed. Is there anything I should make sure I get also.

FYI. I have the c2/964 pulleys, nuts, shims rear mini fan housing, Large fan housing with a 964 engine shroud and a bushing that replaces the bearing on the alt shaft. I also have the original bearing.

My car has the dual crankshaft pulley for the California emissions smog pump (Gone Long Ago) and A/C pump also gone.

I plan on using the early S (Red) engine shroud. I was able to fit the 964 fan housing onto the engine but the depth was to great. I have sheet metal ducts left and right Fan to Heat exchangers (911).

It appears the C2/Turbo fan housing is the same size depth as the 911. How about the diameter?

Any help is welcome....

Mark
