Porsche Crest Rear Spoiler Skirt Split!!

The rear spoiler skirt on my 95 993 is split and even missing the middle section. When it closes it makes a nice crunching sound. Does anyone know were I can find a replacment skirt? I did not see one at Pelican.

Thanks in advance

This is common and it is easy to replace. Raise the spoiler manually, but not all the way (leave it an inch or so from the full up position). The old one snaps out and the new one snaps in.

You can call Pelican and see if they have it. Sometimes things are not in their catalog.

Found this part number on a U.K. web. site and called Pelican to confirm it. Search for part #993.512.121.00, spoiler wall.
I just checked my car and I'm going to be due for a replacement real soon, starting to see the split go the length of the spoiler.
Looks easy to fix,but its a small working area.

Cool

Mark thanks. There is a part number is visible on the part when you raise the spoiler should be the same (I'll double check). Did Pelican tell you if they carry it?? I hope it's not a Dealer only item.

AFJ was right on the money,$83 and change, spoke to the Pelican guys today at the German-autofest in Ventura Ca.,they know their parts, got a free T-shirt and took a couple of early morning pictures of the parking area, I'm sure Pelican will post pictures of the event shortly.
Saw an earlier thread on tinted windows, check out the white 964
coupe (mine) gotta have some color, black! The driver's window is open, but matches the wing and 1/4 window.

FWIW, I found a spoiler wall on eBay for $30 (including shipping).

There is a good DIY on www.p-car.com.
It can be found here: http://p-car.com/diy/spoilerwall/

Good luck,
Lee

Thanks Leland. I'll have to check over there and see whats up. Did you ever kill the basket handle on your car? My is a late 95 so it came without it. Much cleaner look I think.

Most of the DIY’s at that site are excellent. This one is an exception. There is no need to go this route and completely remove the spoiler. Do what I said above. Raise the spoiler to about an inch from the top. Don’t raise it all the way as you lose some clearance! Take a look at the new one and the remnants of the old one. On both the top and bottom of the skirt, you will see a channel. That channel snaps into a rod on the spoiler. Use a small screwdriver and carefully pry the old skirt off. It will be hard to start, but once it gets started it will go the rest of the way easily. Now snap the new one in place. The whole process should take about 5 minutes, if you are slow and careful about it.

Kang, is right. I have read others saying the same thing about the DIY on P-car.com.
I'm going to be giving it a shot on my car here after I get something to eat so I'll let you know how it went. And I haven't killed that damn 3rd brake light hoop jet. I'm trying to make friends with a body shop owner here in town. Will report on that later too.

Cheers,
Lee
