O2 sensors 97'993

How much and how often do these go bad? I'm told they only last about 60k if your lucky.

Thanks,
jerry

Any exposure to silicon products will also ruin them in short order, can you say Armor-All

There are a lot of variables - but 100K miles is not unheard of.

Your 993 has 4 sensors (ouch). The pre-cat sensors are more important in terms of engine management, the post-cat sensors simply tell the engine that you have a functioning catalytic converter.

The Bosch Generic sensor is about $90 - the new kit to re-use your old connector works amazingly great. There's also a promotion on the Bosch site for a $10 gas card per sensor.

Don,
You rock! Thanks for the great info.

As a bonus, my wife and I are big Spaghetti Monster fans!
