993 C2S brakes

I'm looking at a C2S and from the pictures it seems to have black calipers. Am I wrong in thinking that all 993 C2S and C4S cars should have the big reds from the turbo?

These black calipers could be painted big reds I guess, seems like an odd thing to order though.

Any advice would be appreciated!

The 993 and 9932S shared the same brakes

The 993tt and 993C4S shared the same bigger brakes

You can get some idea from these pics,

This one shows the pads, 993/993 2S rear in the foreground, 993/993 2S front which is also the 993tt/993C4S/993RS rear in the middle and 993tt/993 C4S/993RS fronts in the background

Here are the rotors 993/993 2S left and 993tt/9934S right

Thanks Bill.. So I guess all of the 993 C2S cars I've seen with the big reds were either ordered with that option or were added at a later time.

Interesting... So the only benefit to the C2S over the C2 is the widebody, none of the other trick bits from the turbo.

Makes you wonder if thats worth the $10k premium.

It wasn't a factory option but since they bolt on w/o any issue lots of owners have added them.

I don't necesarily consider the idbody to be a benefit, the narrow will let you use 9 & 11" wheels and tires that give you a great balance f/r.

MO is that the widebodies have too much rear tire, maybe this is needed on a turbo(I wouldn't know) but on a normally aspirated car it's just extra weight, understeer and aero drag.

When I was looking I wasn't in the least interested in a widebody
