Finding a mechanic in MD

Having spent a good amount of time at this site reading about all the things that can go wrong with a porsche, amazingly I'm still hooked and am looking to buy my first porsche. But I see the need for a good mechanic and dont' know how to find one -- both to do a pre purchase inspection (on a local 996 I'm looking at) and to do maintenance and repairs that look too daunting for a newbie like me.
So far I've reached out to the local PCA contact and launched this thread here. Any other ideas or recommendations? I live in Rockville, MD outside of DC.

Cignatta's In Edgewood Maryland are excellent. Give them a call at (410) 679-7600 Real nice guys, very informative, very good at what they do.

Lots of shops in the DC area. Here's a link to a list of tech inspection days that the Potomac Region hosts. http://www.pcapotomac.org/pca/html/de/tech_inspections.shtml

It's open to all club members, regardless ifyou're going to the DE or not. Great time to meet other Porsche junkies as well as check out the shops and their owners. I use GT Performance www.gtperformanceinc.com which is in the same industrial park as Cignatta. I know alot of the Chesapeake Region members go to GT. The owner owns and races a 996 SuperCup. Not unusual to see a dozen Porsches in the shop. Both of these shops may be a drive. Exit 77 of of I-95.
