993 feels down on power

The engine wiring loom on my 94 C2 has been changed along with a complete new injection system following a minor fire caused by the old loom shorting out.

The car ran fine before and felt stong especially at the top end. I've just got the car back form the porsche dealer and the car feels to lack a lot of power. The engine runs smooth but feels like the ignition is retarded.

I will have to go back to the dealer but before I do are there any suggestions here what might be causing this.

To be honest my old SC feels quicker than the 993 as it is currently running

thanks

Did they do any other work at the time? Did they remove your distributor?

EDIT - throwing a few things out there to check, based on the things I imagine they unplugged during a harness replacement:
-Spark plug cables routed correctly
-Distributors aligned to TDC correctly, belt intact
-O2 sensor plugged in (maybe not a concern if a Euro car?)
-knock sensors connected

Distributor belt? Make sure it is intact. If it is not, you will experience exactly what you describe.

Cheers, George

To update a little, its been a bad day for the car and I could do with some help

I ran the car last night for a few miles and all of a sudden the engine oil light came on and the pressure guage read zero.

Foot on clutch and stopped the car real quick and switched off the engine. The car had just dumped all its oil on the road form the moment the oil light came on. The engine is just covered in oil, what a mess.

The car will have to go back to Porsche as it had only been out of the workshop for two days. I'm figuring that the mechanic did not connect up an oil pressure pipe correctly as mechanically the engine seemed fine, is this possible?

Also when the injection system was rebuilt a new clutch and crankshaft main seal were fitted at the same time, could the new main seal have failed leading to this total and very quick loss of all engine oil,

I'm really worried the Porsche dealership wil not want to admit their mistake and will come up with some feeble excuse that makes this all my problem, any advice on dealing with these people?

I've also looked for a lubricating oil diagram on here but cannot find one for the 993 any leads on one?

Sounds like the dealer messed up big time.

The oil circuit is not unlike that in earlier cars. My main computer is no longer w/ us so I can't scan til it's replacement arrives.

There are still just the 2 external lines that go to the tank and oil filter console.

Bill--thanks for trying to post the oil circuit , I had a quick look at the earlier system and got enough info for my visit to the dealers.

The car was taken to the dealer this afternoon and put up on the ramp. Whilst cranking the engine oil is spilling out of the engine to gearbox join so it looks like the crankshaft main seal that was replaced by the dealer has failed.

they are will split the engine and box tomorrow, they are also going to check the operation of the pressure relief valves. One is the big aluminium one on top of the right side of the engine, where abouts is the other one located?

thanks
