C2 tranny vs. C4 tranny......>

Is there any reason one should not use a C4 6 speed in a C2...???

The reason I am asking the question is because I bought a used 6 speed to put in my C2 & was not informed prior to the purchase that it was out of a C4.

The tranny has been installed & is working fine, but I was wondering if problems could arise.

What about power transfer (read loss) as there are no front drive wheels?

Thanks in advance,

- Cam

The only downside is the weight penalty of the VC (viscous coupler).. A little late now, but the VC can be removed with just removing the front cover to gain access.

Here is what the VC looks like... Its held onto its shaft by one small little snap ring

and being driven with each pulse of the engine forever robbing you of precious HP

No sweat. Actually, this can be removed with a partial engine drop-- meaning, one can tip the trans nose down enough to gain access to the front cover and subsequently the VC. Shouldnt be too much work..

do this when I get the opportunity, thanks.

Garage
Correct me if I am mistaken, but wouldn't the AWD nose piece already have been removed to install the 2wd nosepice for installation in a C2.
C2 g50 nosepiece and mount, the rubber transmount goes in the hole at the left

C4 g64 nosepiece and mount, transmount is below the pto case
