Should I sell or part out complete low mileage 964 engine?
Sell 3.6L engine complete or part it out? $6500
I have available a complete 3.6L engine which is presently disassembled with the intentions of upgrading to a 3.8L this is a very low mileage engine with the newer style sealing heads (post 1992), since it is presently disassembled would it be worth more to part it out versus selling whole? The engine is redy for assembly, crank was checked and micropolished cases completely cleaned, I also have the full exhaust DME computer & wire harness, Intake, dual plug distributor, wires, advice would be appreciated, I have decided not to upgrade to 3.8L and use as a transplant for my 3.2L instead I am selling my 1987 Targa, and the 964 engine and purchase a 993 Thanks, Johnny O complete engine price is $6500 I beleive thats a good fair price Last edited by johnnyo; 11-11-2006 at 09:02 AM.. |

I was called twice yesterday for an unrepaired 964 crank. Email if you want to follow up. I need my unrepaired spare.
What is your engine worth in parts? crank $1200-$1800? case $1200-1800? p's & c's 1000? heads complete 1000? alt/fan/shroud 500? intake 400? cams 400? camboxes & covers 400? chain housings, gears, ramps, & covers 200? layshaft & oil pump $600? DME ECU 200-400? Distrib 250 Exhaust 200-400? If cat is good.... I'd say part it out. If you do, I am interested in the case.
