Help!

I am a Datsun expert and I am helping a friend with his 97 Carrera N/A . I have given it a lot of effort but no success. It is driving me crazy! I have searched all Porche forums and sites for the past few days and followed recommendations trying to find a solution but no luck.

The problem is that the keys were stolen and my friend bought a new switchblade from porsche.

My goal is to disable the immobilizer, start it and then program the new key.

I am trying the lock-unlock-lock procedure from the Factory service manual (as posted in several placed on the net) but no luck. The immobilizer "warning" lamp in the clock does not go out and audible engine area (rear right) horn alarm does not stop!

I have noticed that the power locks do not seem to work but every other power item works (spoiler, seats, sun roof, power mirrors, etc.) The passenger side door does not have a key hole, the round part of the exterior handle is just a blank round plate. The passenger side door locking function does not work when I turn the key in the drivers side lock. The center console locking rocker switch (near the hazard switch) also does not operate either of the locks.

I looked at all fuses (nearly 41!) for a blown fuse or one that is assigned to the power locks but no luck. I am guessing that the passenger door not being locked or a crucial signal from the drivers door during the unlock-lock-unlock process is what is causing my grief!!!

I would like to speak with some one on this problem if they don't mind.

My phone number is (902) 452-5110. If you call or text message me, I will gladly ring back to cover the LD charges.

Thanks a million in advance

I'm not very experienced with this. Three suggestions:

1) disconnect the battery for a number of hours to let the DME reset. It's worth a shot.
2) Check the wiring for the door switch rocker switch
3) Get access to the Bosch Hammer (dealer or high-end shop).

Since your problem is time critical, I think you should also post on the 993 forum on rennlist, and try to PM AF Juvat on this forum.

Good luck and let us know what you figure out.

Thanks!

I need a wiring diagram to confirm door switches are working. I assume they are in series with the dome lights and alarm switch and only switched to ground?

I also need to figure out why the central locking system seems dead? Is there a fuse for this?

Do you have an aftermarket alarm installed? Cause of much woe.
Check the grounding strap. Too much resistance might cause this.

Here's a few threads to help:
Central locking relay
bypass alarm

door lock microswitch

locking actuator broken
