All,
How much clutch pedal freeplay should I have measured at the top of the pedal in my '91 C2? Are there any adjustments? I have at least an inch before I feel resistance and most of the time I really have to mash the pedal to the floor to engage 1st gear, especially when warm. I have driven only sticks all my life, and have not really experienced this. However, this is my first Porsche. Perhaps this is more the norm? Thanks in advance.

I have a little play in mine, but pedal is good otherwise. A little play seems fine in these cars.
When was the clutch replaced last? It might be well worn. You might check into the hydraulic clutch slave cyclinder maybe it leaks or is loosing pressure, so when you push the clutch it's not engage/disengaging properly.
