Locked in Car and car would not start

Ok, Ive got a 91 964 cab. Got really damp from this huge storm that flew in and the alarm system went nuts on me. I might be blonde but this wasnt the issue.Alarm system started going off so I called my mechanic to see if there was any way to dissable the alarm system. I am now locked completely out of the car and it is covered to see if it can dry out a bit.I thought that the key would override the alarm, I suppose not? anyone have the same thing happen or can help me to figure out what to do so I can drive my picnic basket.........

Is this a factory alarm or an aftermarket one? The factory one works with the key, aftermarket ones usually have a remote.

It's possible the factory system was disconnected (which includes the central locking) and the aftermarket one powers everything.

If you can't unlock the car with the factory key, then it's possible the aftermarket system has shorted out or failed. You are going to have to get back in the car and disconnect/repair it.
I would call either a locksmith or AAA to get in the vehicle.

Aftermarket alarm/central locking/remote start systems are a pain to diagnose and repair.
