993 distributor belt

changing the distributor drive belt on 1995 993. is this a d.i.y. project or dealer only job

that writeup is fine, but you don't have to disassemble it as far as the writer did. the gear and the main shaft assembly is removed as shown, but the other short assembly can be left in place. the allen bolts that hold the upper and lower body together are removed, body halves separated as far as they will go, then the two dowel pins are tapped up out of the way of the gap between the body halves. now the belt can be replaced by slipping it over the lower body shaft and sideways through the gap.
