Tiptronic Problem_Shifting to manual

Hey there....I am wondering if anyone had the same problem before on a 91'964 C2 tiptronic.

I cannot seem to get the tiptronic box to shift to manual. The level can shift over, but nothing happens. The car is still on D and the level is in the manual side.

Anyone care to comment on this?

Maybe the switches have gone bad inside the shifter consol. I am pretty sure that when you pull the shifter to the side for tip mode that it trips a small micro switch (in your case this may be whats wrong). I am not an expert on auto trans in Porsche, but I think that is what happend.

It really is an electronic shifting transmission with a manual apparatus for us to touch. You will need to disassemble starting with the unlocking button on top. You must remove the center console. You can then unplug the connector and do continuity checking on the switch mechanisms.

Thanks guys for the comments. Much appreciated. Will probably bring the car to my local garage this weekend for them to have a look at it.

At lease I am pretty relief its not going to be something major.

Cheers.
