Bill- Are the 993 RS front struts of the monotube or dual tube design? I can't tell with the rubber boots on the strut.

That's great, Thanks!
Here's a brand new out of the box 993RS set http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1240262526.jpg |
As promised, the rest of the 964 racing mounts, it took me a while to find the stuff. Here goes:
Below is an unassembled 964 Cup rear shock mount. The parts for the monoball are laid out left to right as they go top to bottom; I show the spring perch here for clarity since the small washer goes under it. The two tubular pieces on each side of the monoball telescope together within the monoball. The circlip is to retain the monoball into the plate and the studs are pressed into the plate. http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/g...964CupRear.jpg Below is a 964 RSR front shock mount. Note similarity to 993 RS mount Bill shows above which is a sealed version of the RSR below. http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/g...r/RSRFront.jpg |
Thanks!
So the Modes are copies of the RSR's Here is a Mode that I just installed on my 993 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1241271399.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1241271426.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1241271481.jpg and the original JIC http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1241271522.jpg |
Modes are a very good copy too, here is underside of 964 RSR Front. Although it looks like Porsche used the same casting for the center as the rear mount (shown here below), the number on the casting is different.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1241276032.jpg Here is RSR rear which is same as RS but with hollow top nut. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1241276049.jpg |
An excellent read and comparison between the Porsche 964 and 993 models. I own a 964 and definitely made the right choice based on your data (I wouldn't reveal otherwise... :D:D).
I've attached a picture of my 1990 Porsche Carrera 2 Cabriolet. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1246573762.jpg |
Bill, I just did a 3.6 (95 993)motor conversion in my 78 SC.I am finding the need for more oil cooling was wondering if you have any suggestions on any particular type of coolers, mounting locations etc. Thanks in advance John Szabo

for track use the bigger #153201 6"x3"x24" is better. For additional cooling(only needed for hot track use) plumb the above in line w/ a late Carrera radiator cooler in the fender. The B&B valance mounts above do require a valance w/ center intake |

Bill- I have noted the cast alloy brackets used on 964 RS cars with the big gas tank option, have you noted the same?
