Here's some info on what the factory thought was good for a 993 race car, in this case a '97 GT2 Evo

Bill- Are the 993 RS front struts of the monotube or dual tube design? I can't tell with the rubber boots on the strut.

The RS are monotube Bilstein

Have you got any pics of the 964Cup or RS strut tops?

Sure, here are some pictures of the 964 RS and Cup parts. I will take some pictures of 964 RSR front and the 964 Cup rears when I can get them out of storage around here.

Below are the front and rear 964 RS suspension mounts:

Below are the 964 RS (left) and 964 Cup (right) front suspension tops. The Cup part mounts the pivot point more toward the center of car for more negative camber.

Rear RS shock mount disassembled (964 RSR is same, but with a hollow cap nut):

Front strut rod of 964 RS showing smaller, Bilstein dual tube shock design rod:

As promised, the rest of the 964 racing mounts, it took me a while to find the stuff. Here goes:

Below is an unassembled 964 Cup rear shock mount. The parts for the monoball are laid out left to right as they go top to bottom; I show the spring perch here for clarity since the small washer goes under it. The two tubular pieces on each side of the monoball telescope together within the monoball. The circlip is to retain the monoball into the plate and the studs are pressed into the plate.

Below is a 964 RSR front shock mount. Note similarity to 993 RS mount Bill shows above which is a sealed version of the RSR below.

Thanks!

So the Modes are copies of the RSR's

Here is a Mode that I just installed on my 993

Modes are a very good copy too, here is underside of 964 RSR Front. Although it looks like Porsche used the same casting for the center as the rear mount (shown here below), the number on the casting is different.

Here is RSR rear which is same as RS but with hollow top nut.

An excellent read and comparison between the Porsche 964 and 993 models. I own a 964 and definitely made the right choice based on your data (I wouldn't reveal otherwise... :D:D).

I've attached a picture of my 1990 Porsche Carrera 2 Cabriolet.

For street use I've been happy w/ B&B #153202 5.5"x2.25"x20"
for track use the bigger #153201 6"x3"x24" is better.

For additional cooling(only needed for hot track use) plumb the above in line w/ a late Carrera radiator cooler in the fender.

The B&B valance mounts above do require a valance w/ center intake

On the back you need the curve RS drops on a lowered car, but even on the front the curved ones add to clearance around the strut & brake lines.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1255384370.jpg
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1255384572.jpg

in back you only need curved at the extreme hard setting

added a few more wheels, 10" ET65 w/ 265/35x18 is a known good fit at any ride height. 10 ET56 on my car kisses the drivers side lip at full compression(the car is at an extremely low height)

Bill- I have noted the cast alloy brackets used on 964 RS cars with the big gas tank option, have you noted the same?
