Alarm Trouble with 964?

I may have posted in the wrong area before.
Im having some trouble with my 1990 964 with factory alarm.
The alarm now wont shut off.

So today I disconnected the battery. Waited ten minutes, Reconnected and alarm was off.
So now time to test the keys. Both Factory key and new key i made are the same result.
Passenger side door lock works fine. I can unlock it and then I can use the central lock button to re-lock the car and it arms.
The Car can be started that way too with either key. I can open the Drivers door when I unlock the car from the passenger door.
But as soon as the car is alarmed and I try and disarm and open the drivers door. Alarm goes off.
Not any flashing lights, just the horn.
It has been raining the last few weeks (Vancouver) and the car has been outside. I read another post where someone was experiencing the same thing on the drivers door but there was no solution.

A little help?

I think in 1990 the alarm brain is under the cowl on the passenger's side - if not, it's under the passenger's seat. Wherever it is, make sure it's dry.

Also, the lock solenoid on the driver's side may not be reaching it's full limit position when you unlock it; this would cause the alarm to fail to arm/disarm properly. The fault code would be something like "limit position not reached" if you scanned the vehicle.

This is all speculation, of course, but that's where I'd go. Make sure the brain is dry and then move to the driver's door. The electric solenoids do go bad, as do the plastic ball sockets that move the lock rods.

Good luck.
