Transmission

I am planning in changing the trans fluid of my 993 c2, after noticing some roughness when shifting. I am a little concern about possible problems after changing the fluid and I want to make sure it is completely safe for the car doing this procedure.
All your comments will be much appreciated.

There are DIY instructions for the job on Rennlist and likely here too. It is a simple DIY that you should not worry about. Roughness shifting from 1st to second until the car is warm is normal.

Roughness in shifting is pretty serious words. After seeing what PO can do to 915, I have never let friends drive my G50. At least if anybody is going to break it it is going to be me, huh?

Have you thought it may be bushings?

Depends what you mean by roughness. After I changed my gear oil to Redline, I noticed an improvement in shifting into 1st gear. Putting the gearshift in 2nd & then 1st when starting out will also help. So Redline or Swepco is what I hear recommended the most.
I used a piece of flexible 1/2' tubing, inserted in the fill hole and routed up above the wheel with a funnel attached to ease getting the gear oil in.

Swepco is certainly the fill of choice for a 915

but factory fill and recommended for every XX/XX race trans has been Mobil 1 Delvac, it used to be called SHC
