Boge stock shocks on a 993
I've discovered that the shocks on my 95 993 are BOGE. I know that the Monroe shocks seem to have a bad reputation for longevity, but what about the BOGE? They appear to be very expensive shocks, approx. $2,500 for the set. How long should they last?
My car has not had any rough use and has 39000 miles on it. Obviously, I am curious because I don't want to replace them if I don't need to. Thanks! Don |

Okay, I just answered your other post. Boge are a reasonably good OE shock. I'd guess 70K miles and/or 10-15 years?? Just a guess...
How do they rebound after doing the bumper test (keep pressing up and down on the bumper until it really gets bouncing, then let go and see how quickly it damps out)

I cheaped ou and put Boges on an Audi V8 that I had years ago, theuy were OK, but I always regretted not spending a few extra $ for the Bilsteins. If you are going to keep the car I'd use fully threaded Bilstein HD e/ something like RoW M030 springs unless you are going to track a lot in which case you'll spend a lot more for a more adjustable setup.
