Can You Tell Is you have the updated P & C's

Is there some way of telling if your 964 engine has the updated Cylinders and Pistons without tearing the engine down?

Thanks Lorne M.

Possibly - If the shop that performed the work followed the Porsche instructions there should be a mark as shown in the attached image.

"Mark cylinder head with -10 or -20 appropriately on intake flange"

anyone have more info on the whole job?

thanks lorne m.

the update was removing the heads and machining them to fit a gasket to them to stop the leak. only a few needed replacing the cylinders for that problem, never the pistons..

Thats the info that I am looking for what actually the TSB from Porsche says.

That specific TSB "Refacing Cylinder Heads" (as well as many others for the 964) can be found at http://www.pcarworkshop.com/index.php/964_-_TSBs%2C_Parts_Guides

You must register at the site (its free) to see the TSB's

I had also bought new mahle cylinders for 964 & send cylinder head for refacing to a reputed company, now I need to know if i have to do engine timing differently or I need to measure piston valve clearance separately, as head has been machined ... My engine is 964, 91 Carrera 2.
Thanks
