turn signal problem

I have a 91 c4 that has an inoperable right rear turn signal. After going through and checking things over, I discovered that the fuse for that particular circuit is blown. I replaced the fuse but it immediately blows when switching the right turn signal on. I have a feeling there is a short in the switch but am not sure.

Does anybody have any past experience with this particular problem or have any ideas before I drop $300 on a turn signal switch?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Nick
