Help! Windshield? & other
I have a 91 C4 Cab, had it for 3 years & added 25k miles to it (started with 89k) with minor issues so basically it has been a blast to drive. My question is that I need to replace the front windshield (screen) but haven't been able to locate one. The typical services have one UNTIL I ask to schedule the work & then it isn't available. It isn't cracked but looks like it has been sandblasted at certain low sun winter afternoons. I guess this is from the time it spent in AZ, Cal, & Tx in the sand? I can't figure how the paint looks good (for a 20 yr old car) but the glass is pitted. may have been painted but if so it was a very good job so no issue. Any ideas on finding a glass? The other catch is that the VIN is questionable, dealer says not valid, has XXX in the middle, this car was imported in 97 so when I CarFaxed it looked ok since then but not sure what happened before that. Like I said, I've had it for 3 years so not an issue for me.
The other BIG question is how do you get one of these things on jack stands? I've done tune-ups, oil changes, etc. but with the single point jack location I have been jacking it up & sliding a ramp under the tire, surely there is a place to put a jack stand for support??? |

I have the same issue with my windshield, as does my friend with hers. Both of our cars are 89's with good paint. Mine has just over 80k, hers around 60k miles. I think they are just soft or something. You'll probably have to order one at the dealer, I've heard they are around $1000!
