993 shift bushings

Just brought my new baby home and it looks like I have my first project. I have a 96 Cab w 40,500 miles...

The shifter clicks and clunks in to gear... mainly on 2nd and 4th. Best I can tell it is not in the trans, it feels like it is right in the shifter. Took it to the porsche dealer and that want to replace the bushings and the linkage??

Any thoughts on this?

Anyone replaced the shift bushings?

Thanks, I did this repair on my 76 911 an it was an easy fix, not sure how that compares...

911 and 993 have totally different linkages.

I would recommend replacing the stock shifter and linkage w/ RS parts.
FD Motorsports has a nice kit.

get either the Golden Rod or Platinum Rod and RS short shift kit
