ignition issues: 965 won't run: feels like extremely weak ignition
Checked wires, plugs, replaced distributor/cap/rotor, checked for dirt/debris on crank trigger, checked ignitor plugs, crank trigger plug: at a loss.
Car starts ok, but hard to get "running" like the fuel is extremely cut back. Fuel filter is fresh, pre-filter in tank is clean. When it's running poorly & i'm actually driving it, on deceleration you can hear loud(er) popping from the exhaust, like unburnt fuel is igniting post-turbo. Running out of things to check: thoughts?? :/

Mark, are both fuel pumps running? Can you check the control pressure to the fuel distributor?

Has anything been done to the car from when it was running good until now? (like new parts installed, new wires, valve adjustment, fuel filter, etc..) Or did it all of a sudden just start running bad?

No new maintenance or anything, just started acting funny: I'm way overdue for my WUR to be rebuilt but until Brian L has a core, I can't send mine off yet; so, I thought it was my WUR until it became apparent that it was worse: it started doing it at idle, then progressed into cruising too.
Mark. (I'll pull each fuse tonight & see if it starts on one pump for both pumps) Does anyone know if the car will run for crap with only one pump running? I assume the non-functional pump would serve as quite a restriction...

It sounds like it's running rich from your description. Bad O2 sensor?

It appears that as soon as the idle starts to stabilize, all goes to he'll, as is it's switching to another mode/o2 emulation mode & then the ignition goes ultra weak: breaking out the manual now to see what I can pinpoint
