Failed 993 key conversion

Hi all,

Decided to do the P-car key conversion (from big clumsy flip-key to separate units...). Surprisingly enough it won't work for me. I get it all together and the light goes on when pushing the button - but nothing happens. Even when holding the circuit card with battery exposed and trying (leaving both cases aside) it won't open the car. But when I put it back in it's original flip-key it works just fine. Thought for a while that the battery had gone weak over the winter - but then it wouldn't have worked back in the flip-key case....

Any idea? Seems like the flip-key casing is part of the explanation.

Sounds like either the battery or switch is not making contact in the new housing. You might want to fiddle with them a bit.

It's a super easy conversion, & I have never known it not to work.

+1...Take a jeweler's screwdriver and carefully bend the flat metal contacts out so that the battery fits tight and the switch makes contact easily.

Sorry for late feedback - but I only got try with a fresh battery just now. Worked like a charm! Thanks for your patience and help.
