crushed only key fob
The other day I crushed my key fob in the back door of my wifes LR, I left them on the bumper. After closing the door I noticed 1/3 of the for sticking out, I knew right then.
The light on the remote work now, but does not disarm or unlock. The car is a 1997 993 carrera with alarm and immobilizer. I have searched and read "reprogramming the remote made easy" and many other posts so I am some what ready. Things I have done: -Changed the remote battery -ordered 2 new fob's -read and reread page 20 in my manual -located my key card and immobilize code -called Porsche service to please my Wife. I do not have a second fob that is programed All I have managed to do is set off the alarm 10+ time, and open the door with the key. I think that the Unlock,Lock,Unlock in step one is to disarm the alarm? What am I doing wrong. I put the key in turn to unlock, alarm starts, turn to lock, turn to unlock pull handle ,open door , put key in and turn till dash lights come on. The alarm is still going off, the immobilizer light is flashing with the alarm I know that i'm just not getting it. Some one please point out my dysfunction. |

There's a secret handshake and programming involving turning the ignition start, pushing buttons and such. I would suggest contacting the dealer. Have your VIN# handy and be prepared to fax the registration.
