Lowering RSA
Good day,
I have a 1994 RSAmerica. I changed the original springs with eibach springs it lowered the car by about 1". My question. Can I lowered more with out changing the original shocks? Thanks. Danielhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1324211554.jpg |
you can use the stock threaded collars for a little bit more.. but to go really low you need something that has more adjustment.. KW's ,Biltsein PSS10's
|
Nice car BTW !

Thanks. I love the car it is canadian with only 40,000km. Rarely, this 1994 RSA has no rear seats.

Coincidentally I have the same challenge on the front. therefore I am getting special rings fabricated which allow for +- 23 mm extra lowering on the standard shocks. If your shocks have the standard thread compared to Carrera 4 or ROW RS shocks these rings will fit. I searched quite sometime for these adjusted rings and finally decided to get them machined, since I could find no adres machining them (in the past Ruf and Hergesheimer machined them, however not anymore). In the meantime other people contacted me since they heared/read i am getting these fabricated. If you are intersted you could send me a PM or something or reply here. The rings will be machined first week of Januari 2012. Only problem then would be that I live in the Netherlands (Europe). The price isn't high btw I think and it has cut outs for the adjustment tool to adjust your car in height while the rings are mounted.
Here the former Ruf-ring: http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...ewindering.jpg |
Thanks for the reply. The PSS10 are in my mind but so expensive! Chrismast just past.

Your original shocks might be too exhausted. With corner balancing and lowering the car plus your time and looking for lowing collar you will be spending the same $$. Go with the Pss10's. And do it right the 1st time. Ask me how I know. :(

I know this is an old thread, but I am interested in the RUF lowering collars for the front of my 964. If "FD" are still fabricating, please let me know.

Thanks. As it turns out, they are no longer making the RUF lowering collars. Any other options out there?

Go with Pss9 or 10's. When all is done you won't be saving much giving that you might find the collars.

I've got the PSS 10's on my RS America and love them. They made it really easy to get her dialed in for the Nurburgring. I have them set at 7 with street tires. So far over 170 laps, with 1 off and 1 360 spin.
Couple of friends with RS America's have also gone with the PSS 10's, they just work. Good Luck, Don |
KW V3, awesome suspension, 4 way adjustable. I have them on my C2 and simply love them. A serious piece of kit! My .02 cents SmileWavy
