Foggy Inner Lamp Lens-'90-964-C4

Any one here know how to remedy this situation? Is it possible to remove the lens
from the housing(Although I don't think so.)

I thought I saw a Pictorial/Tutorial here some time ago about someone who made up some type of mild abrasive/detergent solution and swished it around in some fashion inside the lens housing, rinsed and dried it and it looked Great.

Any help would be Greatly appreciated! Here are a few pics of what I got...

While its theoretically possible to remove the lens its almost certain that it will crack when you do

I cleaned mine by putting denatured alcohol in it , sloshing it around, pouring it out and letting it dry, worked like a champ...you may need to do it a few times

you dont want to use anything abrasive or a soap that would leave a residue

964TargaC2...

Thanks Much for the tip, but it didn't work for Me. I tried what You described several
times and even let it sit for ten minutes before draining and filling again, then repeating the process , etc.

Hopefully someone will come up with the original thread that I was referring to.

I know I'm not the only one with a "Cyclops" 964! lol

Thanks Again All!

Tony

964TargaC2...

Thank You!

I took some 20% volume hydrogen peroxide and swashed it around inside the lens, then emptied it and rinsed with denatured alcohol. Looks 100 % better!

I realized the fogginess was caused by ozone given off inside the housing and knew that the peroxide would remove the fogginess...will post some pics later...gotta' go make some $$$ ! lol

Thanks Again!

Tony

Here are a couple of pics to illustrate the before and after conditions...

The "Before" ...

And the "After" ...

Here it is installed back in the C4 after proper cleaning...

And a shot of both for comparison...

All in all ,I'm very pleased with the end results.

Thanks again to all that chimed in on this thread!

Best Regards,

Tony
