Pics of 993 with Center Console Removed?
In an ongoing attempt to make my 993 into an older style 911 I'm wondering what the tunnel looks like with the center console removed. I presume that I'll have to create a boot for the shifter and parking brake handle, but before I dive in a picture would be nice to know if this is going to be futile. Anyone have some pics to show what I'm up against?
My knee pad, interconnecting bracket from the knee pad down to the console are gone, along with all the wiring to the diagnostic plug and switches. |

Someone on Rennlist just did a beautiful interior makeover with the center console and knee pad removed. Search on "Interior Makeover" in the 993 section.

Another alternative is to abbreviate the console like this in a friends car

Thanks for the feedback guys. I never considered what Bill showed in the last picture above, but presumed it would look more like the car in the link on Rennlist. I'm going to pull mine apart in a few days.
Never ending project, this car! |
