Converting from parcel shelf to back seats
I have a (factory?) parcel shelf in a 1991 black and tan c2 cab. I wish to convert it to have back seats again. What parts do I need to source to complete the conversion? Where best to get the parts? Used is ok with me. Would consider selling or trading the parcel shelf to fund the conversion

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you can't just unbolt the rear seat delete and bolt the seats in its place.
There is no connector on top of the hump for the rear seat backs to attach to and there are no threaded bolt holes for the seat belt receptacles. It is doable but requires a lot of work and a TIG welder. |

I plan to remove the parcel shelf over the winter months this year, and see what I need to do the job. The previous owner said he had the car in to a reputable Porsche garage in Toronto, and requested them to check if everything was there. They said it was, but not sure what "it" was referring to.
I appreciate the comments on this conversion. I am aware that this option is highly sought after, and I was not intending to give it away. One option I have is to hang onto it and see if I ever want to reconvert. But the justification to the family and purse string-tightener was to have a "family car", hense the 911 over the boxter or cayman. Peter

I've done them before and it's doable without much hassle. The parts can be separated from a donor car. |

I have the shelf removed and found that I have both seat belt mounts installed. I'm looking into the center pivot for the seat backs, but am wondering what can be done for the outer pivots.
