You most likely have air in the system (no kidding).
Make sure you top up the hydraulic reservoir often. Treat yourself to a Motive Products Power Bleeder. I think you need model 0109 which works on my 993 and we both have the same hydraulic reservoir, I believe. Pelican Parts had the best price when I bought mine. You can modify it for dry use if you wish. |

I just got done helping a buddy do a single mass lightweight flywheel, clutch, PP, etc., on his 964. We also replaced the rotted soft clutch line down near the clutch slave so we had to bleed it. We made sure the reservoir had adequate level of fluid and bled the slave the same as a brake caliper... pump, pump pump, HOLD... (had to manually lift pedal up when pumping because at that time, we had the slave out of the trans)), crack, bleed, (pedal drops fully), tighten bleeder... Once the trans was back in, we did it again with pressure on the slave piston. We had to manually pull the pedal back up every time we did it (x 3-4 times tops) but once we pulled it back up, it stayed up. It wont come up on its own after bleeding the line. It's essentially pumping the slave piston pressure out when you bleed it and there is no lefer in the trans pushing the piston back in so the pedal doesnt have anything pushing it back out. Once you pull it up manually, if its bled well, it will stay up.

Do not touch the pedal when bleeding the clutch slave. Once you bleed it again it should stay up.
