964 RS euro rear disc dimensions

Does anyone know the hight of the hat, on this Euro 964 RS disc ? - do they have a different hight than 930 rear disc's ?
If the hight is different from the 930, i am thinking about making complete new wheel hubs.

I'm considering to use them in the folowing setup on my 911 SC

Front 322x32 with black Euro 964 RS calipers

Rear 299x24 with 993 calipers 30/34

Another question : do i need a bias valve here ?

Thanks Roslin

a 964 rear rotor won't work on a 911, there is ~1" difference in height

the easiest big rotors to use on a 911 are 993tt front and 930 rear

the annulus of a 993tt is 322x32 and it can be unbolted from the 993 hat, a 911 hat is flat.

looks like this w/ 911 hat

the 930 rotor is 309x28 and is a bolt on, and can be used w/ 993 rear caliper or 965 rear caliper fairly easily

if you use 993 or 993tt calipers f/r no p/v is used

Thank Bill for the detailed information as always :-) !

If i use the 930 rear disc with diameter ø309 - do i then turn them down to the ø298-299 as the OE 965 disc's ?

Do you know which aluminum grade to use for the flat hat adapters ? I would like to make them by my self.

Are the newer 997 etc. hat adapters made from steel ?

No the 930 309 works fine on a 911 w/ any of the small 4 piston Brembos, the best choice because of least modification is the 965 30/34 rear, it has a wider throat than any other rear and only need to have the mounting holes modified, next best is the 993 rear, which needs the same mounting hole mods and a bit of grinding at the narrow part of the throat.

here you can see the modified mounting hole and where the grider was used

another pic of the modified mounting holes

this is a 964 rear modded as above and fitted to my 911, the 964 rear is 28/30 and so is moreappropriate to use w/ 964 fronts, the 993 and 965 rear are basicly the same caliper(there are some minor cosmetic differences) but they both have 30/34 pistons and so are more appropriate for the biggere 993 and 965 front calipers

top 993RS rear, bottom 965 rear both have oe throats that accommodate 28mm rotors but the 993RS is much more difficult to fit to a 911

They are from a german friend's 92 964 RS light weight - He changed his front calipers to Big Red due to his weekend laps on then Nordschleife, and i got the opportunity to by the old ones. I bought an extra set of wheels he had at the same time - RS CUP Magnesium. It should be nice to get things build together now :-) !

Bill, When i intend to use the 993 tt front rotors with these 964 RS calipers with 10mm smaller pads,
do you think the pads will cover the last row of holes in the disk, as i can see there is 5 rows in the 993 tt versus 4 rows in the OE 964 RS front rotor ? ... Considering to turn a small relief from the pad area towards the hat..

The 965RS/t caliper/pad is 10mm shorter than the Big Red, so the inner edge of the rotor coverage is that much less

If you are using 993tt rotors then you need to be using 993 wheel carriers to get the rotor o/s right.

If you don't have the rotors yet, 928GTS or 964RS/t rotors are the same size as 993tt but have the correct o/s for 964 wheel carriers

I nice option is Zimmerman which has a 322x32, w/ floating aluminum hat for ~$250ea, these are 993 o/s so need the 993 wheel carriers

The wheel carriers - is it the hub you mean?
I have both used OE 964 RS disc and 993 disc (322x32), both in one piece with the hat, so i know how they looks / dimensions.
When you are talking about the Zimmermann solution w/ floating hat, is that like what Patrick Motor-sport uses for their Wide body conversion for 911 ? ( as shown on the picture )

I do not have any front or rear rotors yet, and my initial thoughts was to use : late 930 front hubs, flat 332x32 rotor, billet hat like from Patrick Motor-Sport.

Do you know where to by late 930 front hubs, and how much the often costs as second hand ?

Sorry i spaced out that this is on a 911

Yes n/b 911 wants a flat hat on stock 911 hubs and 993 tt rotor annulus, like I showed you here

911 turbo and 911 w/b hubs have a built in 21mm o/s and can be used only w/ 930 fenders

911 needs caliper adapters which will have the o/s needed

Ignore the above about Zimmerman, they are 993 specific and probably can't be adapted to a 911

you'll have to shop salvage yards for the used 930 hubs, maybe Patrick can help you if you are buying the other parts from them

Thanks for your replay Bill,
I have ET 55 on the Cup wheels, so i need the 21 mm in front + approx. 8mm spacer and 50mm spacer rear.

I think i will go hunting to find the hubs on salvage yards, or maybe search it here.
