96 cab top only unlatches one side

Last winter I had both left ane right side cable replaced in the top now every now and then the right side motor that releases the top won't unlatch left side starts to open but then of course the top get bound up the light is on showing the top is opened even though I close it, and then all the sudden it will fuction. Any ideas
