Air Conditioning Hard Line sizes

All,

In the process of fitting 964 air conditioning into my earlier car, part of a much larger ground up rebuild including fitting a 6-speed G50 and just ran into a bit of an issue with the hard lines running along the sill.

The high pressure lines from the 964 fit all the way from the compressor to the receiver/dryer and the suction lines are fine except where on the 964 they turn up the side of the inner front fender into the trunk compartment (to the evaporator), and in the early car it needs to go under the pan and up through to the evaporator.

Those last sections need to be fabricated, I was hoping to use aluminium for them but need to make sure I get the right line sizes.

Can anyone help as far as what size those 964 AC lines are and what will fit? Are they metric sizes or US/Imperial sizes?

Thanks

Dennis

The lines are all in the online parts catalog. The tubing sizes are not specified but you can approximate the tube OD by the size of the o-ring seals at the end of the tubings.

Thanks for the reply, I will follow up on the O ring idea. I was trying to see if I could just buy appropriate aluminium tube sizes through someone like Vintage Aire (who sell AC parts including "bend yourself" aluminium A/C tubing, prefitted with fittings on both ends and of various lengths....but not sure if the sizes are the same and whether the Porsche fittings I have now (rear length of the suction side is the main one that I have already). can mate up.

Thanks again.

Dennis
