I really want to disconnect my 1992 C2 factory alarm....

Hi,

My factory alarm system is driving me crazy. It goes off randomly, is unpredictable and I also hate the auto-lock function after a few minutes. And, I really dont need the alarm considering where I live and how I use the car.

Could anyone let me know how to permanently disconnect the alarm system? I would like to keep the remote lock functionality but not the alarm.

The cheap fix is to remove the siren, but I am not sure if I will remove the car horn by doing so.... :-)

Anyone?

Regards,

Jhan

If your alarm goes off randomly, there is a good chance you have other problems with the car, I.e. Frunk, engine, interior and glove compartment lights switches not operating as intended. Removing the alarm will not fix those issues, so I would check and see if these are in proper working order. Check for battery drain as well.

Garage
The trumpets and alarm horn are separate, under the right front fender liner. You could just pull the two wires off the alarm horn.
