WOW, supercharged 993 engine in an older car. Very very nice.

Does anyone know anything about the car Excellence did a write up about it in issue 104 (sept 01')? Looked pretty well done and seemed like the owner was happy. Would love to get any longterm information on this car.

I would be very interested in a supercharger kit immediately after warranty runs out. However I haven't heard too many good things about them.

Yeah, it does look nice, but I've heard bad things about parasitic loss, and I want more power. I think I'm going to go down the twin-turbo route, once I've got the cash.

nice installation but what are the real world race track results? Scott Peeler , out of Utah, tried to race a supercharged 911 in POC and PCA competition. He seemed to be always having problems with it. As he was trying for 930 style gains, I understand why he had some issues, but every event? It's no fun having the hood up all weekend working on the race car! I am not expecting oem turbo power results , but at the price we found this used kit for (car will not pass smog on Calif) we thought it might be a neat way to get more power over the n/a install

There is at least a person on rennlist who has supercharged his 993 and reports no problems after 17K miles. The general feeling though is that this mod is not suitable for the track.

The 993 that had this TPC supercharger kit on it just drove down from the bay area- it used up 5 quarts of oil for a 400 mile trip! I think I will pass on the intended swap for our race car- Thanks!
