993 Engine bay elec harness question - easy one
Howdy,
If anyone recalls the good ole 993tt named Barney - also known as the Purple People Eater - well, it's going back together again. After nearly 1 1/2 years of strip to metal paintwork, and the addition of some GT2 and RS goodies, it's nearly complete - AND, it's no longer purple (thank God). It's been so long since disassembly, my mind is a little blank on some of the details. In this case, the major wiring harness for the engine, and how it is routed. Around the fuse panel area, the main engine harness splits. It is a major section of it that essentially runs from the drivers side to the passenger side, and feeds to the passenger side O2 sensors, the MAF, idle stabilizer, etc... Free as it currently is, it is a section probably 4 feet in total length, and it too splits into 2 sections - 1 strictly for the passenger side O2 sensors, and the remainder feeding all the various other items I mentioned. My question: This harness section looks long enough to be routed either in front of the engine along the sound pad and A/C lines, or in the rear along the panel where the deck lid latch is mounted - basically just in front of the rear bumper. If anyone can tell me by a quick look under their hood if this harness goes up front or in the rear, I would be greatly appreciative. Pics of the end product soon to come - looks a whole lot different than the Barney you used to know. Thanks! Dave

Can't see really clear, but sort of appears to be running around the back side. Yes?
Thanks for taking the time. Dave |
