dashboard display
Recently the back light went out on my information display. everything works except hard to see without backlight.Checked the fuses but found nothing wrong. Does anyone know what it could be? 1990 964 C2.

This isn't rare from what I've come across. Luckily, north hollywood speedometer is in your backyard. I would give them a buzz.
Good luck!

You probably have a blown backlight bulb. It could be a bad transistor as well.
Have a look here for details: Tore Bergvill Cheers, Tore |

My aftermarket radio causes this.
Electrical gremlins. Narrow down the culprit.

I just fixed this on mine this week. Easy fix. I went to all LED's from superbrightled.com
Check out the rennlist article that I referenced. LEDs conversion on dash lights - Rennlist Discussion Forums Three tips; 1. buy a couple extra of each color as they're not hard to break, and you may decide you want something in a different color. 2. Don't get the high intensity bulbs. They come in 1 or 6 lumens, I believe. I put the 1 lumen bulbs in as per the above link. I ordered a couple of the 6 lumens, but didn't use them. 3. Expect to find problems with your car after you get the bulbs installed. Apparently, a prior owner had disconnected a couple of the bulbs to avoid the nagging issues. My seat belt and airbag and cab top open lights are always on now. |
