'92 C2 fuse box
hi folks,
I have a lot of 911 experience (71E presently, past, 70S) but none w the new(er) models. I'm helping a friend prep a 92 C2 for sale. It has a dead battery, and when i put my charger on it, the radio started making static blips. I tried to turn it off but could not. I'm now taking the battery out to charge it separately. is there anything weird about the C2 that would make charging the battery when connected to the cables a bad thing? I have no manuals for this vintage and think i may need to pull radio fuse - can one of you please tell me where the fuse box is located? Also, the key i have is missing a battery i think - will i have alarm problems? This is a stock 2nd owner car. Thanks for any guidance, Chip |

Fuse box is up front under hood on passenger side
The key battery is for a light in the key not alarm

My 1990 964 has an amplifier (original equipment) separate from the radio that draws quite a bit of current if the radio isn't completely shut off. There should be a legend on the bottom of the fuse box lid to help identify the radio fuse. You can test the draw on the battery with a multi-meter and see if it lessens as you pull fuses. Another place that I found was a big current draw was the drivers door light switch. There is a circuit that leaves the power windows circuit live until the door is opened. My switch was bad so the window circuit stayed live and rapidly drew the battery down. Easy replacement of the switch.

Thx Red!
got the fuse cover off and was planning exactly what you suggested. The car is very nice, but has a sunroof leak and sat thru several downpours, then cooked in the sun - when i drove it home water sloshed in the floor, then an alarm came on - it sounds like a second horn, but when i hit the horn button another horn, different sound - comes on too. The alarm horn seems to be in rt front wheel well behind fender liner. It goes off when hitting the brakes, but then comes back on, and now stays on all the time when engine is running. Also, flashers are on. Do these cars have a factory alarm? I do not see a fuse or relay labeled as alarm. If so, can you tell me where the fuse is? Additionally, how are the front seats removed? And, does anyone have a pdf of the factory manual? Thanks for all the help. Chip |

Alarm Control Module is on floor under passenger seat, sounds like it got wet. Good luck, electrical issues dont really qualify as entertainment!

to remove the seats:
first move them all the way forward or rearward and remove the allen screws in the seat tracks, then move them the other way and remove the remaining screws. After screws are removed, the seat can be tilted to unplug the wire harness and lift out.
