Metal Oxide windshields?
Do 993's have metaloxide windshields? Cars with this type of windshield need externally mounted transponders to pay tolls. The fasttrack transponder hasn't worked on the Bay Bridge the past couple of mornings. Perhaps the car is too low, I'll try holding it up higher or out the window tomorrow.

Now in 993 land ...

Metal oxide? Where did you get this from?
My 993 had a fast track installed when it was with the previous owner. It was velcro-ed on the backside of the rear view mirror. George |

They aren't metal oxide - The fastpass here in FL seemed to work best right at the top of the windshield.

Seems to be pretty common on BMWs. I thought I read somewhere that some later Porsches had but I could be wrong. 993s don't. I have a Sunpass transponder on my windshield and never have an issue with it.
It might be the particular toll booth. Or swap transponders with your wifey... |

Thanks, I just had it on the dash, where it worked in my jeep, but in the 993 up high behind the mirror seems to work easy.
