Which 928 front rotors fit with 964 RS brake setup?

All, I'm looking for the 928 PN's that can be used on a 964 with an RS brake setup. The reason I'm looking is I want the ones that are not cross drilled and from what I've been told the 928 rotors will fit the bill.

Same answer as over on R/L, but w/ pics

964RS front calipers will want 322x32mm rotors w/ 928/964 o/s

the only ones I've ever seen are the 928GTS and the 964t(both 3.3t and 3.6t), these are all drilled

the 928S4 used the 304x32mm rotor which is not drilled but these use the calipers which are 964RS sized but that don't have the 964RS/964t raised mounting bosses. These calipers use the same pads as the 964RS and 964t but use a less broad rotor because of the lack of raised mounting boss and were used on 993 front and 928S4.

So you need to carefully determine which front caliper you have before purchasing

the possibilities are
Big Red which was used on 993tt/RS front, 964 3.6t front and a black version which was used on 928GTS these all need 322x32mm rotors and a 132x58mm pad


the slimmer version of the Big Red w/ raised mounting bosses aka Big Red light, these were all black used on 964RS front, 964 3.3t front, these need 322x32mm rotors and a 132x48mm pad
raised mounting bosses


the slimmer version of the Big Red w/o raised mounting bosses aka Big Red light, used on 993(black or silver) front, 928S4(black) front, these need 304x32mm rotors and a 132x48mm pad but can be used on 322 when spaced out away from the axle

w/o raised bosses, w/ adaptor for 964



be careful to get rotors w/ 964 o/s if you have 964 wheel carriers and 993 o/s if you have 993 wheel carriers

965.351.043.00 32x322 1 piece rotor /L
965.351.044.00 32x322 1 piece rotor /R
965.351.423.01 caliper /L
965.351.423.01 caliper /R

Can I run these rotors from a 928 with the above mentioned setup?

928 351 046 01
928 351 045 01

these are the same rotors used on the 928GTS, they are drilled
965.351.043.00 32x322 1 piece rotor /L
965.351.044.00 32x322 1 piece rotor /R

the 928S4 plain ones will be too small, they are only 304 x32

back a few years ago we looked for plain ones for Scottos Cup car, never came up w/ anything

Sebro may have something for you in a plain version, Chris Whaley may have more info.

Hey Bill, interesting information. I just got off the phone with Vertex and they claim the 928 351 046 01,928 351 045 01 are not drilled but they did not have any in their warehouse to confirm.

I plan on seeing if they can get some in and let me know.

Are you aware of any non drilled rotors for my setup?

No, but if those turn out to be non-drilled it would be nice to know.

As I said both Bob S. and I looked all over for plain 322x32 for his Cup car, never found any w/o changing to 993 wheel carriers which aren't allowed in class.

The guy over on R/L posted a pic of a plain Sebro, don't know if that the actual rotor or not or the size but it is purported to be a 322x32 for a 928GTS which would serve well for you. Chris Whaley has been promising some plain 322x 28 rears for my car from Sebro all winter but so far they haven't shown up.

Bill, I just got off the phone with Lindsey Racing and they have the 928 rotor without the cross drilling. I'm going to order a set so I'll keep you posted. Pete Tremper told me that he had done the same thing but when he and i spoke a while ago I of course forgot to ask him where he was sourcing them from.

Bill, the 928 GTS rotors fit perfect and are NOT cross drilled so that's what I'm using. Ran two days at VIR and they show very little wear.

Now I just have to find someone who might be able to slot these for us.
