997.1TT Bad Front Diff HELP!

Hello Everyone!

So I have a 2007 997 TT with just under 100k. Had a leaking front driver side axle seal on the front diff and had it replaced. It immediately started leaking again and thats when we noticed how much play was in the output shaft. Drained the Diff and it had more glitter in it than a Richard Simmons workout video! Have been trying to source a good used one but since I am looking for 2007-2008 Turbo only part it has been impossible to find anything. Anyone have luck sourcing parts to rebuild the unit? I am also still open to a used unit if anyone can point me in the right direction. 99734902050 is the part number I need.

Another question...I have found several units (part 99734902051) from 997.2TT at reasonable prices. What is the difference and could they be made to work?

Have you checked out:

http://www.bmcg-gearbox.com/services.html

As per the front diff from the .2

Are all parts that attach to the diff assembly interchangeable between .1 and .2
E.g. axles, seals, driveshaft

If all those parts are the same that might lead me to believe that swapping out electronics (sensors, actuators etc) might make this backward compatible.

No way for me to know. I dont have a .2 diff unit sitting around or I would try to test fit it. Was hoping someone more tech savvy might have an answer or already go through this on a personal or customer car.
