Refinishing Threshold Trim
Next Mini-project is replacing the threshold trim piece that encloses the bonnet/engine lid switches.
I'd like some advice on the nest way to remove the current finish and what "paint" would be the best match to the current finish - thanks

isopropyl alcohol and a scotchbrite pad will take it off. Just stripped and refinished my console (using SEM color coat)using this method. I'm contemplating refinishing my sills also. You could just strip the soft touch finish off and leave them black. "Sticky no more" could refinish them for you in soft touch but ultimately it will just scuff off again.

Thanks Lorraine, stripping 'em sounds like the plan.

You know, if we just mandated that we drive and your passenger are barefoot we wouldn't need to worry about scuffing the sills up
.

As "wolds" suggested:
"91% isopropyl alcohol and a scotchbrite pad" - takes off the finish and leaves the underlying plastic threshold in a its naked beauty.
