Re: Adjusted passenger window and now won’t go up and down all the way
Hi,
My 2006 997 cab passenger window wasn’t closing about 1/8 of an inch to the top, so I did an adjustment underneath the door. Now the window is misaligned and won’t go down completely and only goes up 1/4 of the way? Any ideas? The motor seems okay. When I open and closes the door, it still drops or raises a bit, so it’s almost like it thinks that it’s hit it’s limit. See the pictures as the second shows that it should be right against the back window. Thanks. |

Dino... Welcome to Pelican Parts.
No response to your question going on five days. What I would do is go to Renntech.org. A serious "do it yourself" site that is just what you want. From my experience with the 996 window issues.... I had to replace a regulator and couldn't get the glass aligned correctly. I can do most to the low tech repairs but conceded defeat on the window. I marked it with a sharpie and replaced the regulator but all that castor and camber crap never would line up. Took it to a long time Porsche independent and they fixed it fast. One thing you might not know is when you close the door with the window up, it actually is still down 1/4 inch until the door is completely closed. Then it goes all the way up. This prevents having to slam the door because of cabin pressure. The electronic settings for the window were a hassle and I am glad I took it in for repair. Good luck.
