Can't clear side mirror error codes

I have a 2000 996.1 C4 Cab 6-speed. I replaced a faulty passenger side mirror harness that had a bad connector. The mirror controls (including memory) now work fine. However, I cannot clear the two mirror error codes 20 & 22 with my Durametric unit. I have tried clearing the codes with the engine running and with the engine off (ignition on) and the codes just come back. I have even tried disconnecting the battery for 1+ hours with no luck. Any suggestions?
