I'm trying to do a leak-down test on my 996. On my '71S it was easy to find TDC for each cyl by following the valve adj procedure, rotating the crank& pulley 120d. I see what may be a TDC mark on the 996 pulley but ?? I know about holding a stick in cyl, etc but that seems the hard way esp alone without a long third arm... and an eye on a stalk. Also, how does one remove the rear valence? Where are all the screws? Are there any hidden? It is prob easier with the cats & cans off, huh? tnx, jvm

TDC on the pulley is thru the pear shaped hole into the case hole at !0:00- 11:00 with a 5/16" allen wrench if you don't have the tool in the pic. This lines up the pulley mark & TDC arrow on the case @ 2:00 on the case for TDC cyl.1 & cyl. 4

also......leave the exhaust on....just jack up the rear to a good height..
first wiggle the rubber cover up of the connector for the coils (will make plugging the coils back in easier...trust me)....then unplug coils.... find a small ratchet with a good 5mm allen and pull coils.... when pulling the plugs I like to use 2 short extensions as it gets tight when you pull them out with the mufflers in place.... follow the previous post to tdc each cylinder.....
